Bottom 3/4 darker than top... Silver patina?
    Even darker in the recesses.

This could be a fake(type 3 Daisy ) John..the set up and that notch on the reverse of the eagle's head make me nervous.

This one is tricky John. I used to have daisy variant and details on your badge are much better. Maybe it´s stupid to say, but it´s too good to be an original daisy badge...

                Hi John,
IMO it is a good type B bronze daisy.
                Cheers,
                Kwen.

Hi Joseph and Kwen and thanks for your comments.
Kwen, I am about to search the database for a type B.
                  Can you tell me the difference between a type B and a S & H type 3?
May be the photo, I cannot find any tiny trace of bronze.

                    Hi John,

I am on the fence with this one, but leaning more toward it being good. Like Dan says, there are good fakes of this type of PAB. But I like the look of the hinge and catch, and the base metal and finish all look acceptable. All the fakes I have on file are different than yours, so that also makes me feel good about it.

                    Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                      Thank's Tom:
I have been going through the database and noticed the flaw in the lower
left swaz which is a trait of an original.
Finish?? It is probably 99.9% devoid of finish. I have seen many zinc badges that either absorb or reject the finish.
There appears probability of bronze? in the stippling between eagles legs and wings. Also around the hinge, either side of the pin
on the reverse of the swaz, and in the gun and turret reverse hollow. Thanks all. John

                        Hi John,
There were only variant A and B in Philippe's Pab book. Nither "flaw on right transmission maintenance access panel" or " marks on 6 to 9 o'clock positions" on reverse side showed on your badge.
No trace of silver on hinge, pin and catch may suggest a polish or a bronze class. According to the size and weight of your badge Imo it is good(saw a zinc pest white mark on reverse side).
                        Cheers,
                        Kwen.

                          Hi John,
Sorry to correct my words. I check the Pab book and it said "Daisy" may suggest a type III of S&H. Yours Pab is variant B.(I should'nt say type B cause you more confusion)
                          Cheers,
                          Kwen.

                            Hi Kwen:
Thanks for all your work. Glad you found it in the 'bible' by Phil DB.
It is the about the most detailed hand finished badge I have. Take care, John

OK, New info. The stippling and the rear gun are copper. The streaks down each side of the hinge are hinge residue.

                            Does that ruffle any feathers?

What do you mean by polish, Kwen? John

                              Hi John,
There should have some silver residue left on those none - zinc part if it was a silver class. Otherwise someone might clean it, especially the catch.(again I used the wrong word - polish)
Nevermind, I only meant there is a possiblity. Just ignore my bad English and don't worry too much, you have Thomas on the favor side. If you don't want it, put it on estand and you will get a swift sell. But please let me know first.
                              Cheers,
                              Kwen.
