It looks an original badge, but from those pics, I would check the finish.

For me it looks a little tampered with, if you check the area just above the rifle butt from the reverse, as if that area was drilled and leaving a follow through chuck mark? But that area is usually clear of metal anyway? So it might be just my imagination.

I agree as well, the finish looks suspect to me and the area mentioned does look to be "drilled" out.

This drilled area is usually clear of material on the sheet metal and block hinge examples. The crimped in variants usually has the flash still in place.
