    Allgemeinesturmabzeichen to ID

Hi. Does anyone can confirm for me originality of this Allgemeinesturmabzeichen, please? Many thanks Lads for Your opinions.

    Hello Adr,

for me this is not an original badge. There is a lot of lack of detail on obverse.
like some leaves of the wreath are missing the detail as well as the eagle ( head, claws, feet.....)

I would not like this one

    Best regards

    Martin

I agree with Martin. Soft details and a bad grenade head. Copy of the RK design.

The Karneth/Kreisel badges don´t feature the highest quality, this one is really bad looking, but nevertheless an original piece imo.

                Regards,

                Daniel

                  Hi Adr......

......I have to agree with Daniel. Original badge that may have been overpolished at one time. Just a very worn example.

I agree with Daniel and Bruce, this looks to be an original with heavy chrome finish, something we sometimes see with these Karneth badges.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I also belive it to be a good example, albeit quite worn.

Hi to all who say the RK is original. I never saw a RK with a straight top of the grenade head?? Is it because the angle the picture was token? Or am I not aware of a variant? All the RK's in Heukemes book lack the straight grenade head. I cant post pictures here but I'm sure you know what I mean.

                        Regards, Wim

                          Hi Wim

I can see what you mean, but it may be because of the pics. I must admit I am not a fan of the lack of detail in some areas of this badge, but as others have said, maybe the finish is causing this. From the pics shown I am still not comfortable with it.

Can better pics be posted please including side shots of hinge and catch, and close ups of the eagle and swas area..

Maybe I have been looking at too many of these recently, but I am not a fan of Andys badge. Nobody else feel it has a wierd look to it? In particular I do not like the eagles head, the lack of detail to the bayonet and the handle area. General lack of detail, and from the reverse the cut out areas seem a little strange and the badge is not nicely curved all way round. And the crimping of the hinge is offset.
Lastly the eagle feathering to the left wing is just like no other "RK" I have seen.

                          cheers
                          Graeme

......Graeme raises a point worth looking into.

Take a look at the GAB in this link. See what you think.
