I agree with Daniel and Bruce, this looks to be an original with heavy chrome finish, something we sometimes see with these Karneth badges.
TomIf it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a littleNew Book - The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II

Hi Wim
I can see what you mean, but it may be because of the pics. I must admit I am not a fan of the lack of detail in some areas of this badge, but as others have said, maybe the finish is causing this. From the pics shown I am still not comfortable with it.
Can better pics be posted please including side shots of hinge and catch, and close ups of the eagle and swas area..
Maybe I have been looking at too many of these recently, but I am not a fan of Andys badge. Nobody else feel it has a wierd look to it? In particular I do not like the eagles head, the lack of detail to the bayonet and the handle area. General lack of detail, and from the reverse the cut out areas seem a little strange and the badge is not nicely curved all way round. And the crimping of the hinge is offset.
Lastly the eagle feathering to the left wing is just like no other "RK" I have seen.
cheers
Graeme
