Looks like a Souval design, but I'm not familiar with the catch

I honestly can't find anything I don't like about your badge other than I've never seen one like it. The lack of the cutout is currently being explained with other badge types, so why not ???
It sure would help if the rest of the hardware were present, but I don't see anything that alarms me.
I agree that it looks like a Souval design but this one I would have to hold in my hand to make a decision. Of course, Souval made many post war badges and this could indeed be one.
Any chance of some detailed closeups?

          Regards,
          Frank

Typical Vienna design but none i am familiar with. Can you post a good shot of the catch - might be able to make a link with that. Does not look cast. Crisp details. Very interesting...

                      Hi guys,

The catch reminds me of Brehmer...also possibly Mayer/F&R.

I like the general look of this badge, the level of detail is good and the base metal looks correct. The remnants of the solder for the hinge looks to have once held a sheetmetal hinge, which would also be correct for a zinc-based badge.

                      Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                        Mike,

Might be worth starting a thread asking guys to post their Vienna design Heer Flaks...we might find a match. This could be one no one has remarked on before since the designs are so close. Or we may have seen it but not with this catch.

I'd really like to see where this goes. The lack of the cutout would make a similar badge stand out whether it had a catch like this or not.

I'm in the process of buying this badge as "Genuine", as it was sold in the e-stand. Is it still in discussion as being a fake???

                              Thanks
