    PAB check needed

    Hi Guys,
Sorry to bother you all, but just got this worn Adolf Scholze or AS PAB in silver with a document group.....and just wanted to get the thumbs up. Ive checked it with known examples and feel pretty good about it, but just wanted to make sure all is well.

Sorry for the bad pics, but had to use a scanner as my camera is worse! One thing I noticed is that it has "lines" behind the swas, which I only could see on one other example I saw online. Probly normal, but worth an asking.

Thanks for any help or comments!

        Hi,

I do not like the area of the Panzer ( layout of the lawn area ) and I can not see clearly the 5th and 6th wheels on the right side ( frontwise ) and the "S" in the marker stamps are always flatted on the original pieces.

These mistakes are typical for Staegemeier.

But maybe I see it badly.

        Best regards,
        Gabor

I wouldn't be so sure whether this would be Staegemeir or not, but it's not an original badge we see here.
            Kind regards,
            Giel

Thank you to everyone who responded. I appreciate any comments so I can learn from this. It looked good in hand, but I dont have another AS PAB to compare to in my collection. I think my next purchase will be the PAB reference book. (Phillpe's book good?)

So we are positive that it is a bad one? I believe everyone, but just want to make sure it doesnt have a chance. Can we point out why it might be bad? thank you!

That was my first comment when I got it, was that it was really thick.

Here it is compared to my BH Mayer

I normally would have posted it before I bought it, but I was more interested in the doc than the badge! bad mistake

I agree this is not a good one. The biggest red flag for me is the weird base metal, looks more like a higher-quality lead rather than the correct zinc.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thank you Thomas. I appreciate you explaining your reasoning so I can learn as much as possible.

Thanks again to all who have commented. Badge and unfortunately the document as well are headed back for a refund.

Bro after your PM i compared your PAB with mine. It's the same maker. I found these differences.

check this out: I found another grouping the SAME exact as I have here.
It is being sold with an AS PAB and same exact document as I have, just a different name.

Could be coincidence, but pretty crazy to see the same doc and AS PABs being sold around the same time.
I wonder if this PAB is good?
