    IAB in silver

Can I have opinions on this silver IAB

The finish makes me feel uneasy.

In focus close ups of the obverse would be nice and some angled hinge and catch shots may help

    regards

All these badges you are posting look very clinical. But I think most (including this one) is an original, but just really heavily cleaned or refinished. In either case, I would not want these in my collection as they are either heavily messed with originals or well made fakes.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I think you need to post clear in focus pics of the eagle area etc, and a reverse shot with pin closed..

From the pics you have posted, It looks refinished at best.

I am off to bed, but do a search on "Mayer IAB" and see how many you find with a similar finish..

I will catch up tomorrow and hopefully other guys will have chimed in..

            regards

Please note I have not collected a lot of badges of the same type but concentrated on only buying over the years mint or nearly mint items when I saw them at fares or on web auctions-these include IC's etc. Thus I have only a small collection.

No problem, thanks for posting them..

I sent you a PM mentioning that scanning badges can produce good results. If you have a scanner it is worth trying..

From the pics posted so far, the feathering on the eagle looks off to me and the detail on the talons looks to be missing, which would be strange on a badge with perfect finish.

I guess better pics are needed.

                regards

The second one has got my neck stuck. Less artsy fartsy, and just good plain close ups, straight up, and in focus helps a lot. Maybe the camera needs a stand, and some extra lighting to see this badge better. (to each his own)
