    Silver APB

If this is a good one, it will round out my Antipartisan Badge collection. It is 58.4 mm tall, 49.3 mm wide, and weighs about 23 grams.

Pin is magnetic. What say ye?

    regards, Robert

I know the pictures weren't great, but anyone want to venture an opinion?

I see the box on the obverse for the hinge placement.
I see the nose point on the top, left hydra.
      Wide tongue lower right hydra.
I'm not qualified to say more. John

Judging by your pics. I think it has a chance of being a good Type 2. I would wait to see what others have to say as well.

                  Thanks guys,

I had to submit a bid at the estate auction for the badge, and was uncertain what to bid - these badges are just so tricky. I bid low but no one else seemed to want it, so I took a chance.

It's gratifying to see that it probably is a good one - I really appreciate the time folks took to look it over and render an opinion.

                  regards, Robert

Here are better pictures of the badge. It is actually 58.5 cm tall, and the cut-outs show minute cracks and fractures.

The badge is worn, and the highlights are down to zink especially towards the bottom of the badge.

                    regards, Robert

The wear is evident in hand - this was banging around on someone's chest, I'd say.

                        Hi Robert,

I like it too, but I am not sure about the finish. A few of the pics make me think this one is refinished, the paint seems really thick especially on the reverse in places.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks Thomas, I know you know your badges! It could be refinished. The silver on the reverse looks thicker in the photos than in real life - it almost looks like some form of laquer over an silver in the recesses on the back. It has almost a plated looking silver, with remnants of a top coat-looking substance over it.
