    IAB question...

    Hi guys,

I´m not really up to date with the different makers of the IAB, so my question, is this a Juncker or a Deschler?

    http://wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/s...d.php?t=568263

I was contacted by a member and now I´m not sure anymore.

    Regards,

    Daniel

Unknown maker. Slim stalk design, which is probably a Juncker, but this set up variant is usally called as a Deschler mutant.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Here is a Deschler you can see the eagle's head is different, bigger than the slim stalk type, but the hinge, pin and catch are match with Daniel's variant, also Daniel badge has a same very detailed talons:

The so called Juncker, this one has different pin, and usually different catch too. The eagle's head is the same, but because of the other differences IMO Daniel's badge is a so called Deschler/Slim stalk mutant.

                  Hi Daniel

An interesting badge you have there.

It certainly has the reverse profile of the badge some collectors have decided to call "Juncker".

But the obverse leaf details are a match for the Deschler marked design and not the "Juncker" talked about. It also has a pointed pin and not the "cut" type.

Badges marked for Deschler and the unmarked of the same design thought to be Deschler have very detailed talons and your badge does not have that feature.

So for me it is not possible to say this is the "Juncker" or a Deschler at this moment in time. But an interesting badge that is part of the puzzle.

I think, maybe Hans was thinking something similar.

                  regards
                  Graeme

                    Daniel

Is it possible to post a clear close up of the eagle so that we can see the talons and feathering in more detail.

                    thanks
                    Graeme

yes you are right, at first sight I called it a Deschler, but looking a second time I was more leaning to Juncker
