IAB in silver w/ an amazing amount of silver wash still aboard, as well as a nice, highly detailed Heer / Wehrmacht Nadel (stickpin) w/ knurled pin. May end up e-standing them both, if I don't get too cozy w/ them in the meantime. A few pix of both...

Hello Milton
I have not seen a block hinged Hobacher with a smooth silver finish before. The ones I have seen have a type of frosted white finish with a textured look attributed to zinc bubbles.
In looking a the pin in the open position, it looks to me like overspray. The lower part of the raised hinge guide seems to be two colors of silver / grey as well.
Not saying it is, but I would test the finish in an inconspicuous place with acetone on a q-tip. If it has been painted you will see the residue right away.
Best Regards, fischer

No worries Fischer. I'm sure it has more to do w/ my less than perfect photographic skills than having been refinished. In person and in natural light, there are no issues and under magnification on a few of the higher wear spots you can clearly see the zinc base metal peeking through. Thx for your comments.
