But wait for other opinions. If it´s legit it´s a rare bird and quite expensive badge.

SS Shooting Award
I'm really pleased that someone has asked a question about these pieces because I have seen them around for many years and yet collectors seem to avoid them.
Personally, I have mixed feelings about them. They look real but there is something at the back of my mind which tells me to be cautious.
I look forward to hearing more opinions.

This badge came from a large SS group containing only authentic awards. The other items where for example, German Cross in Gold, heavy Deschler in a good, worn condition. Panzer 50 assault from JFS but unmarked, a normal Deumer silver PAB as well as all the standard badges and a couple of documents. The guy joined the SS in 1933 and went through the War to survive and die late 1960s. We have no reason to doubt the authenticity of this badge. It has all the features that an authentic one should have. You can also see some photos of another one in Detlevs guide. Its also made of Cupal which would be very unusual for a copy of fake so just because you may have never seen such a badge doesn´t make it fantasy or non-authentic.

I don't believe it's a fantasy at all and I like this example. It's a prototype badge with a works order 11 for Gahr to produce these prototypes.
It's has all the right attributes to be one of these prototypes. It's the first one I've seen in a cupal instead a silver plate/zinc but why not, it's a prototype after all, many materials may have been tested.
See P.69 Meyer and Schild for another example.
