    Army Paratrooper Badge

    Hello guys,

A friend of mine would like to get opinions on this Paratrooper Badge. I already gave my opinion, but I want him to get other opinions as well.

    Thank you & best regards,
    Tom

(I also posted this in the Fallschirmjäger section, but figured it might get more responses here.)

Nothing going for it --other than what's been already recommended. Of course, the hardware's all wrong and a far cry from what originals look like. Love the "little" 800 stamp. I believe I saw one recently on Weitze's site going for 25.000,00 EURO!

Yes, definately real, but I think the Aluminum piece is more attractive. You realllyy gotta be "in there" to buy that at 25.000,00 E.

                    Thank you!

                    Hello guys,

Thank you for responding and giving your opinions. I didn't want my friend to rely fully on my opinion about this badge.

Tom D: I told my friend that he needs to buy your new book if he wants to avoid mistakes such as this.

BTW: This badge has now been added to the Fallschirmjäger Fake Gallery Hall of Shame.

                        Thanks Tom

I can't tell you how many times I have had people come up to me holding a fake badge....and THEN they buy the book!! It should be the other way around if you really want to avoid the fakes

Yes indeed, Tom! If everyone made use of the great reference books available today, plus the massive pool of expertise from around the world via these internet forums, costly mistakes could be virtually eliminated and the hobby would be more fun for all. Thank you for all your efforts in making this a better hobby.

                          Best regards,
                          Tom

I would think the price tag on an army para would coerce someone to go after the book first.
