        Question I have all ways been under the assumption that the rounded R.S. pieces are of the post war variety anyone care to clarify or elaborate on this

          Noooooooo! It is a Dinosaur myth, Ian. Many badges with round RS logo are original wartime, including the one Don shows above. Also: RS U Boat, RS GAB, RS Coastal artillery.
