    Alu hollow Juncker GAB!!!!!

THE BADGE FEATURED IN THIS THREAD IS A FAKE CFR. THIS THREAD

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=75711

    Hi Guys,

Since I received the badge, I'm going to post in in this thread, this morning 101 ways of sharing this extraordinary award with all of you went through my mind. Because my fingers are still trembling while I type this I decided not to bother you with all my theories, but just keep it plain and simple.

Purely by accident (result of frustration buying because I didn't manage to find any good PAB's lately ) I bought what I tought was a nice Kupal GAB. A collector can never have enough Kupal badges at least as far as I'm concerned.

However after opening the parcel it immediately became clear to me that this wasn't just another Kupal badge at least not as I have gotten to know them.

What I recieved was a 100% aluminium GAB that was just dipped in a copper based coating and then finished only on the obverse. On all the two or three layered Kupal badges in my collection the different layers are very pronounced and can be easely caught by the scanner. This isn't the case with this badge however. The coating on it is only microns thick.

So I really was thrilled with this GAB, an my excitement only became bigger when I could match the design to the so called Juncker massive GAB. Because of that match for me a lot of other pieces of a much larger puzzle are beginning to fall in to place but that's another story.

So I won't keep you all waiting and first post some scans of the little bugger and also a compare with Pascal's massive example that clearly shows the stippling on top of the wreath. No doubt in my mind that these badges came out of the same die.

Just one little question to all of you. If you reacted to this thread please let me know how much you think this badge weighs (Skipy your excluded )

I would expect it weighs around 6 maybe 7 grams. Under ten at least.

Nice find! Thin hollow badges are never Cupal per se, they are too thin to be truely layered. They are aluminium with a thin Copper coating.
            Cheers, Frank

                        Yeah, me too!

Great find, Philippe! I've never seen one like that. I would guess it weighs 8-10 grams.

                        Best regards,

It looks like a CupAl badge to me.

                            Morning guys,

Well for a badge that has never been posted before there sure isn't much respons to it. Well maybe you all already had one in your collection but never bothered posting it.

This for sure isn't your regular Kupal badge.

This GAB weighs 5 grams (FIVE) this makes it more then 55% lighter then a Kupal Assmann PAB and more then 67% lighter then the know Kupal GAB.

Looking forward to seeing more of them
