One of my nicer pick ups at the latest Stuttgart show.
...and my biggest regret from the Stuttgart show. I had this PAB in my hands and put it down again, because the finish seemed to be too good and the seller was an idiot with many fakes. Now it seems I was the idiot!

I LOVE the badge by now.
      Well done, Philippe.
      Cheers, Frank

        Philippe:

I never noticed before, but your badge has the same die flaw found in the "Junker" hinge Zms. Excellent.

          Can you elaborate, please, Dylan?

            Hi Dylan,

I'm afraid I lost you there too my friend. What Juncker hinge are we talking about?

@Frank, I know what you mean. This is the kind of badge that automatically sets of the alarms "this can't be true, no way something 60+ year old can shine like this". I think my understanding of the sc Zimmemann set-up evolution combined with the fact that two weeks before Stuttgart I handled Pieter's stone cold mint bronze example with an identical set-up, were the only things that allowed me to buy it although my gut feeling told me not to.

The "dot" under the turret, unless I am seeing things? I usually encounter this on the Zimmerman badges with the juncker style set-up, ie - elongated hinge.

                  Dear Dylan,

Now I'm following. Think I lost you with your new abbreviation "zms" for Zimmermann

Your correct it has the die flaw as do most sc Zimmermanns with the exception of the very early zinkers featuring the round catch plate and the very late variants with the crimped reverse set-up.

@Scott taken in to account the award date I certainly wouldn't exclude that this PAB came with the award but you probably can never be sure of that.

                    Frank,

you should know better, how can you put down a PAB and NOT expect Phil to buy it in the next seconds

It is interesting, but I have a Bronze PAB identical to Scott's, but without the die flaw. It even has the "cut" marks on the reverse seen in Frank's example. Will post pictures tonight.

Would it be possible for someone to circle the dot under the turret for me please, These tierd eyes of mine can seem to see it. Thanks for your help

Phillipe Merci. It would help if I looked at the correct side of the badge
