Opinions needed on Infantry Assault Badge

I would be grateful nfor opinions on this unmarked IAB, which appears suspect to me. I attach some pics.

      Hi Peter......

......From the images you provided it looks as if it has a high lead content, IMO. It definitely looks to be a cast copy.

        Hi Peter

Well it certainly looks grubby and knocked about.

I think it could be ok, It looks like a BSW design, but I can't recall seeing any with a rectangular catch plate. Is there a micro maker mark on the reverse in the centre of the rifle?

Clearer shots of the obverse would be helpful imo

        regards
        Graeme

          I agree with Graeme,
Possible BSW design, but clearer obverse shots and hinge area shots would be very helpful, possibly in day light to brighten up the features covered by the grime and dirt. I see an "adams apple" from the poor casting on late war BSW badges and I think I see this on yours hence the need for reverse hinge area shots.

            Hi Peter,

Looks fine to me, but ground dug and not in the best condition.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks Bruce, Graeme, Dave and Tom. These are the only pics that I have, and don't know if I can get any others. I will try and find out if there are any marks on the reverse of the rifle Graeme, and will let you know if I find out anything.
              Thanks,
              Peter.
