    W.H. ISA for opinions

I just picked this ISA up from an auction in Germany and thought I would post it up for some opinions. Its quite a heavy badge, and their are traces of a copper colour through the silver finish.
    All comments are welcome.

    regards John

I tried to take a photo of the copper colour shining through the silver finish at the rifle butt.

Hi. I think your badge is an original WH, but not copper coated. That may just the original finish turning "goldish", known as "vergilbt".

I would agree, definitely original and imo definitely copper coated. I think you can use the term "vergilbt" only in combination with cloth and paper but I don´t have my dictionary with me at the moment...

        Regards,

It may have received a light copper coat as these were applied more richly on some than others. A good indicator would be "bubbling". When you look on the backside, there appears to be the faintest amount, but not enough to say richly copper coated. Finishes tend to remain "strong" when applied thickly...

Thank you both for the very quick replies. The copper showing , I have to say is minimal. I like this badge. There is a fair bit of the finish left and its in good condition.

            cheers John
