finally I managed to get an IAB from this maker, later variant, but still desirable IMO.

Near impossible to find. Lot's of finish left on that early Maybauer too.

          Regards,

Sweet in all its aspects! Pitty it doesn't have the cut out swas but then again you have the beautiful condition that makes that up
            Kind regards,
            Giel

                Hans

Congratulations on finding one in such a fine condition. Stunning badge

Strange for an IAB that is thought to be "early" and "quality" that the inner profile is so roughly finished. The lower wing feathers are not cut at all.

                For sure hard to find

                regards
                Graeme

Interesting points Graeme. Notice the more incomplete eagle beak too. Reminds me a little of the 2nd N/S Juncker IAB. Possible later - early variant of the missing leaf design? Good point too whether this one is "early", even with the brass base metal.

Ken if you check my first post you can see I said later variant.
Its not the first die cut-out example.

Hi Hans. I'm not kicking the tires on your description, just following up on what Graeme had to say. I'll add this too, that it's another case where until "proven" a Meybauer. I know in our "gut", we may feel otherwise...

Another point, I think Graeme was trying to make is the issue of the base metal. Who's to say some badges weren't still being made of "brass" until '43 or '44?
