    Rrs Pab

Here is a badge I just acquired, an RRS silver PAB. I know what Philippe thinks of it and would now like some others to share their thoughts.
    Thanks

                Dear Don,

As you will probably know, we found some different die faults and characteristics among the supposedly genuine RRS PABs we observed. Yours falls into one of these catagories and I would think it is good.
                Cheers, Frank

I think the piece has a funny color to it...like almost a tan look, but that could be the lighting. The wear patterns seem legitimate and I respect what Frank has said.

                    Don,
My opinion for what its worth is that this is a good PAB.

                      Don,

I'll waffle and say I don't know! I only say that because I believe there are good fakes of the RRS PAB of this design. I held one that looked really good, but when felt in the hand the metal didn't feel right. The base metal looked like zinc, but it had a "greasy," slick feel that just wasn't right. I was probably wrong on that one and would be happy to know it was OK, but just don't know...

I bring that one up because it's finish and appearance was similar to the one you show. Not at all that I'm saying the one you show is fake! Just bringing up something from my past experience.

The other RRS front design - the one I'm showing here with the more detailed grass area - I feel more comfortable with. Again, I would be real happy to be wrong about fakes of the other design!

                      Best regards,
                      Greg

Thanks for all the comments. The color is actually a dull silver that is being absorbed or evaporated. The metal underneath is zinc.

                          Hello Don,

I like your R.R.S. Panzer Badge. I see nothing wrong with it.
                          Hello Greg,
Do you have a picture of the reverse of the R.R.S. that you posted?
                          Best regards! Tom
