    CCC in bronce, opinions please

    Hello,

    a friend of mine bought this one on a military show in Germany.

    now there`re some doubts.

    What do you think? Original or not?

      The clasp is 100% original. I think the finish looks a bit odd, but this could be caused by a massive amount of zapon lacquer on the clasp.

            Thanks for your opinin. Tom Durante wrote my friend that the CCC is a so called "Staegmeier" fake?

              I don´t see the Staegemeir "fingerprints" on this one, imo it is not one of his copies. Maybe Tom will jump in and explain what observations he made regarding that piece.

                  Hi guys,

                  Unfortunately, I do believe this is a Staegemeir fake. Here is an identical one that was sold on his Best-Antiques auction site in March 2010. Red flags are the weird finish, smaller backplate and weird pin that is often used on Staegemeir fakes.
