                    Sorry to say, but I think we are looking at a Staegemeir fake here! A few detailed shots of the hinge and catch will reveal we are looking at a well made fake IMO.

                            While searching the forums for other staegemeir fakes I ran across this thread

                            The GWL IAB in these pics seems to have much softer details and very different finish. Not to mention the makers stamp seems very faint compared to the fake in this thread
                            I know I still need to post better close ups of the hardware, but just a reference to compare to.

                              Sorry but the GWL IAB is a modern fake.

                              The used material and finish is from a modern alloy used since some years. The badge doesn't match a wartime GWL.
