    WH Wien Heer Flak

Hello all, please say me - it's original or not?
The catch is repaired or not?

    Thanks!

      Hello,

In my opinion it is an original Hobacher Heer Flak. It is also my opinion that the catch is original and not a repair. Hobacher badges of all sorts are known for over-abundant use of soldering paste. Some of them can be pretty sloppy but still original, IMO.

      Best regards,
      Tom

        Hi Philips,

I can only agree with Tom, a fine original Hobacher for me as well. I like everything I see as far as base metal goes, type of finish used, type of reverse hardware setup and even the greenish-tint to the finish that is characteristic of Hobacher badges.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Actually, on taking a second look, I am curious about the catch on this example. It looks like it might be brass or tombak. On both of my examples, all of the attachment hardware is steel (magnetic). Not that it is a major concern for me, just curious if that catch is magnetic or not.

          Best regards,
          Tom

Another WH for comparison. You are right Tom, the 'soldermann' at Hobacher was not real skilled!

I like the one posted by Philips. Outstanding condition for a WH.
