            Hi Tom,

why doesn't the IAB match the picture in the Deumer sales catalog on page 2a?
            Best regards, Andreas

              Hi Andreas,

Can you show a picture of the Deumer catalog? I would imagine it is just a rendering rather than a true picture of a badge.

                        Hi Andreas,

Thanks for the posting the catalog shot, I knew I had seen it before but couldn't find it in my files.

That IAB doesn't appear to be an exact match to any IAB that I am familiar with. Could be a rendering rather than a picture of a real badge, which we know some makers chose to do rather than featuring a picture of a real badge.

The picture of that IAB also does not look like the "Deformed Leaf" IAB either, which has also been associated with Deumer in the past (by you included if I am not mistaken).

Surely .... but even if they were modified for paper presentation it is clearly different in it's design as the "real" badge which was "talked" to Deumer.

Please compare the the U-Boat badge between real and the picture in the same sales catalog.

                            Hi Andreas,

The u-boat badge you show is also clearly a drawing rather than a photograph of a real badge. If you look closely at the flat, the leaves and the eagle's talons, they are very different than that of the real badge. To me this shows consistency with Deumer; that is they did NOT use real photographs of real badges for their catalog.

Back to the IAB, the Deumer catalog shows a drawing of a badge, NOT a real badge. Furthermore, if you remember this thread back a few months ago, you agreed that the solid-back "deformed leaf" IAB was a Deumer badge.

                            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...catalog&page=2

Specifically look at post 17, here you write:

"...yes i accept the shown massive IAB produced by Deumer too (sic "deformed leaf IAB) but i'm quite sure that several others makers used it too."

I agree with you on that point, and the fact that we have found them in Deumer-marked packets is good evidence. However, the deformed leaf IAB does NOT match the picture in the Deumer catalog either, so are you now changing your mind that they are not made by Deumer?

                            Tom

                              Hi Tom......

......Then just how many more unknown badges are going to be attributed to Deumer?
