Try to check the Thomas Durante's book, “The German Luftwaffe & Heer Paratrooper Badges of World War II”, maybe the best way to study those badges.

Thank you all for the input. I have seen several similar aluminum badges for sale on one particular auction site (that sells a great number of fakes) and thought the population was growing too fast.
