50 and 75 GAB - Junk or Treasure?

These two badges were offered at auction - really lousy pictures but anyone want to venture an opinion as to original or replica?

I would appreciate the help - thanks in advance.

    regards, Robert

        Hello Robert,

from your images IMO the GAB 75 is a nice original JFS one!!

I post an image of my numbered GABs to compare.

I am not sure about your GAb50....better pics of this one would be good to make a statement.

        Bye for now

        Martin

          Hello Robert,
The 75 is an absolute Beauty and textbook original JFS
Is the 25 an RK stamped badge? Pictures of the back would be appreciated

          A really nice pair

          All the best

Thanks fellows! Martin, those are some beautiful badges you've got there. Your JFS 25 looks like a perfect specimen, and the 75 is also a beaut!

Doug, thanks for reviewing them. The 50 is indeed an RK, though I don't have any pictures yet.

This was a textbook buy on how NOT to buy anything WWII German:
            - the one picture posted was terrible and looked deliberately blurred (see below)
            - my request for better pictures and measurements/weights was not answered
            - the "story" was the 97-year old man who had these in his barn, so they must be real
            - no return, sold as is
            - the selling price was too low for them to be original at 200 USD - "real ones cost lots more and this should be an indicator..."!

After talking with the seller and going blnd staring at the picture, I took a chance and bought them. I am delighted that the gamble paid off, and appreciate the pros looking them over!

            regards, Robert

              Robert,
that is the way to buy badges. Sometimes the gamble pays off and it has done in this case
              Excellent stuff
They would make 2 great additions to any collection.

Martin those 2 JFS' you have are absolute belters

Perhaps one day a few might come my way!

              All the best
              Doug

You have made a good catch for that price

Thanks for looking. I can't believe they are both good; I thought the 50 stood a good chance but didn't have much of a feel for the 75.

I appreciate the help, as always.

                    regards, Robert

                      Hi Robert,

even if I don't see reverse of GAB 50, both are originals !

p.s. RK numbered GABs are the best, characteristics they have a beautiful voulted form !!
