    Souval used several different type of catches on their PAB's Doug..the one's shown on this thread and the other one you mention plus you can rarely encounter them with flatwire catches.

      Thanks for sharing your knowledge Dan, but are there any details that determine when a badge was made by Souval pre or post war?
      The one on this thread looks more original with the zinc badge characteristics yet the other one looks to be a die struck piece

        As Dan pointed out, Souval used many variations of setup. You can't just look at two threads, and because the catches are different, flag up that one might be post war.

        The badge in this thread looks believable and looks original to me. You also touched on different manufacturing techniques, manufactures did use different techniques.

        Regards the RS post war question, there is a lot of views on this and many discussions have taken place. When a firm continues to make badges after the war the line between war time and post war can be hard to determine, as the same parts may have been used. However, there is a style of catch that is definitely post war.

        Do a search on "Souval post war", and I expect you will find some great bed time reading..
