    IAB help please.

I have been offered this but am unsure. I know the pics are bad but any opinions welcome. The pin is really long! I have asked for better images....
    Thank you.

Better pictures are needed. From the first view the badge itself looks ok but i'm not sure if the setup is a replacement.
    Best regards, Andreas

I think the IAB is ok and the funny setup has been always there.

Some people think that it was made only by Steinhauer & Lück ... my opion is that this design was made by Wissmann, Pforzheim and given as working tool to several makers (included Steinhauer & Lück).
              Best regards, Andreas

                  Hi guys,

Bringing this thread back up to the top because this IAB is now on the estand and its a fake IMO. I think its the same type of fake as this one shown below.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

As Andreas pointed out in the early stages, better pics especially obverse would be helpful.

And the reverse of the one Tom posted would be useful.. to see if there are connections

                    regards

Here are images for the IAB. I hope these clear things. I have to make clear that to me it is a good badge.

                      Please see....

As the previous owner of this badge, I would like to offer my thoughts.
The badge in question has no obvious cast line or pitting on the surface. It presents a good level of detail. The pin and hinge set up are found on good examples. The catch differs it is true.

I found an example here with the same hardware (not catch).

                            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ight=IAB+S%26L

Could it not be a subtype varient?

remember, when you see dots on the badge (wich you clearly can see on the reverse and obverse) it's no good
