    CCC for Review

    Greetings to all,

I have tried valiantly, without success to date, to purchase a copy of Thomas Durante's reference book on CCC's so I present this one to the group for comment without any of my own research first.

Unfortunately, the seller has yet to send me full pictures of the entire badge front and back and instead has seen fit to only send me two detailed close ups of parts of the badge.

I'm hoping that some opinion can be made whilst I am waiting (perhaps in vain) for better pictures

I have to say that I have some suspicions......perhaps you can all put me at ease

Your time to comment is always appreciated!

    Cheers

    Hi Joseph,

Even without all the pics, I think it is safe to say this is a fine original. This is known as the "Large Font" AGMuK clasp due to the big size of the lettering on the reverse. Yours is the 2nd pattern of these, and will most likely have a fluted, sheetmetal pin on it and flatwire catch. It is a pretty common type of clasp, but its uncommon to find them with the blue backplate like yours, so for sure a very nice original that I would recommend picking up. Nice finish too, looks to have a brass base coating over the zinc, under the silver finish IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Yes, very nice variant I still need for my collection.
So, Tom's book on ccc's is getting tough to find now, huh?

Thanks Tom and Frank for your reviews and positive comments. I've not had good experience with CCC's in the past given how many fakes are out there!......and since posting I I have finally tracked down a copy of Tom's book at last ....so I'm going to grab it while it lasts!

Tom.....I think its time for the 2nd edition release of your book! No one wants to part with their 1st edition copy!

        Cheers
