CCC Gold awarded Anton Hermann and Frithjof-Elmo Porsch

    Hi guys,

Can you tell me some informations about these soldiers?

I read in a book that we do not know exactly that Frithjof -Elmo Porsch SS-Unterstrumführer was awarded with the Gold Grade CCC or "only" the Silver Grade CCC and he got the GAB75 or GAB100. Maybe he survived the war or not. Maybe he died in a russian POW or not. I also read that he published some several books in the 70's years. We can read in Dr. S. Hart & Dr. R. Hart's book that Frithjof-Elmo Porsch died on the battlefield in 1945.
It's a bit confusing to me.

And can you give me some informations from Anton Hermann Unteroffizier 3.Pz.A.A.2, who was awarded Hitler himself with the CCC Gold Grade and EK1 on the first CCC Gold awarded ceremony in Berlin.

    Thanks in advance!

    All the Best,
    Gabor

Porsch survived the war and claims to have been awarded: KC, GK in Gold, CCC in Gold, APB in Gold, GAB "100", Army Honor Roll Clasp + I don´t know how many TDBs. The man is a fraude, nothing else!

      Hi Gabor,

My references state that Porsch received the CCC in Gold very early, on August 8, 1943. This was a full year before the formal award ceremonies performed by Hitler, Himmler and Guderian so I think it is impossible that he would have waited a year to get his CCC in gold. Furthermore, we know the identity of all 50 recipients of the CCC in Gold that got them directly from Hitler himself, and Porsch is not one of them.

Porsch is not listed in Florian Berger's book of the recipients of BOTH the CCC in Gold & the RK. And in the famous photograph of him, he is NOT wearing the RK, which also seems to suggest he never received that award. However, in Manfred Dorr's book on the CCC in Gold recipients, he lists Porsch as possibly getting the RK on April 28, 1945. So I think it is still confusing regarding the RK, but as far as the CCC in Gold is concerned I think it is pretty well confirmed that he did NOT receive it from Hitler.

      Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thank you guys for the informations!

And can you give me some informations from the second soldier? His name was Anton Hermann Unteroffizier 3.Pz.A.A.2, who was awarded Hitler himself with the CCC Gold Grade and EK1 on the first CCC Gold awarded ceremony in Berlin.

          Maybe he survived the war?

          Best regards,
          Gabor

I don't understand, doesn't he already should got the EKI for the CCC in silver and the DKiG for the gold grade?

The winning of one award does not automaticly mean you will get another one "for free"... They do not came in lots of 2.

However, when Hitler noticed that Hermann does not have the EKI yet, he awarded it to him "on state".
After that awarding-ceremony the order was given that all who get recommended to receive the CCC in gold should be holders of the EKI already.

During the first "Hitler-ceremony" it turned out that one soldier wasn´t holder of the EK1. Hitler awarded the soldier the EK1 on the spot.
After that he ordered, that qualifying for the CCC in Silver also meant the soldier should be awarded the EK1 and for CCC in Gold he should be awarded the DKiG. This did not always happen though.

About Porsch, he – in several of his books – tells us he was just 22 years old or something like that. Known photos of Porsch do not show a man that age, IMO. He also says his father got the KC of the War Merit Cross. No known holder of that award named Porsch!
Perhaps Porsch didn´t even serve as a soldier? Who knows? But under all circumstances, he was not awarded all those high awards. Why shouldn´t the German newspaper write about such an experienced soldier? Because he was in a penalty unit? According to Porsch himself, he was "rehabilitated", but volontarily stayed in the unit wearing all his insignias and awards. And very often the newspapers didn´t write out the proper unit, just "in a Grenadier-Regiment on the eastern front" or something like that. I´m surprised Dörr mentions him at all.

                  Hi Hans,

You can read these informations, what Gran Sasso wrote you from the first CCC Gold awarded ceremony ( Anton Hermann' story ) Tom's CCC book on the 31. page.

If you can to help me, then I looking for more informations that Anton Hermann maybe survived the war and what happened during the 50 days of close combat, but I can not find much information about it.

                  All the Best,
                  Gabor

                    Thank you guys.

So, we could say that Porsche's history is very mystic.

                    Best regards,

                        Hi Andy,

Not, this was the Army Honor Roll in the Second World War.

                        Best regards,
                        Gabor

That is a very good question Andy, and I thought of the same thing when I first saw the pic of him wearing the EK2 ribbon with what looks like a WW1 Spange on it. However, I think Gabor is correct, and it is the Honor Roll Clasp rather than a WW1 spange.
