    Wurster PAB - Buntmetal?

    Hi,

This appears to be genuine, can I get some opinions? Supposedly in a metal like nickel silver which I assume is buntmetal.

    Regards

      2nd thought...

Actually, I did a double take and the gun looks a little thick. The "c" catch is flat wire and not round wire. I think better pics are in order too. ---Ken

          Hi Steve,

I agree with Don, this one looks to be a fake IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Check out the box left of the mantlet.

The box left of the main gun is a little too pronouned, maybe a Staegemeier fake...

I liked it until I got a good look at the catch, then everything else started to look bad on it also.

I don't think this is a hero fake...he is much better than this.

                  Hero...

Yeah. I've seen some of Afrika's stuff about 6 years ago online. Someone here was downloading pics of all his stuff to create a main database for fakes. The BH Meyer hollowback IAB's looked spot on. You're right, he's better than this. ---Ken

                    Hi guys,

I agree, this is likely not a Staegemeir fake, his are a good bit better as mentioned. Here is one of his, very well done fake IMO.

I personally keep track of Staegemeir's fakes, and have a database of fake badges as big as my database of original badges. I can only recommend this to other collectors, it is very helpful.
