as far as I remeber this badge was already discussed in the GCA forum and stated as a fake.

Maybe, you are right, because the eagle's head is ugly and I see a little mistake on the right mudguard.

Hi Gabor,

I think it was determined that the PAB itself was good, but the L/16 maker mark was definately bogus. Staegmeir sold this one, and I think it was original, but that when it was in his possesion he stuck the bogus L16 mark on it to try and increase its value. The same fake L/16 mark is found on several of his fake badges, like EK1, etc.

Thanks for the link Hans. As you guys can see, I had actually saved the pics from Staegemeir's site BEFORE the badge has the L16 maker mark on it. So that is proof positive that the L16 marked was added by Staegemeir while he had it in his possession. So not only does he make fake badges, but he ruins perfectly fine original badges too

I was very confused when this PAB was called reproduction as couldn't see any problem with it at all,now its clear,damn Staegemeir is changing the history what a crook.

Both nice badges still !
