Thanks for the additional shots of the hinge. I agree with Don here and also want to add another aspect regarding the hinge. It has no tool marks what so ever (gooved lines) which are like fingerprints on the genuine SHuCo´s IMO.

One can clearly see these grooves on the Silver Steel type of yours.

......Well done. You've solved a lot of issues by by your willingness to go the extra mile. Just evaluating badges by images only once again goes to show just how indispensable having an item in hand really becomes. Though it must be noted that in this case well taken photos revealed the flaws.
