IAB in bronze

Got this late seventies,bronze IAB by Adolf Scholze it is damaged and the reverse has some sort of 'concretions' on it( I part restored the rifle buttit was the seventies and did'nt know any better) I only show it as an example.John

Hi John

The reverse looks to have a hardened glue or adhesive on it. Could that be removed with acetone or "chipped" off. Maybe it is too hard and stuck on.
