IAB opions needed

Hello,
I am torn between purchasing one of these two lovely infantry assult badge and thought I ask for your valued opinions.
Both are listed on a reputable dealers site and from what I can see neither is marked. The first one listed as a Deumer in german silver and the second as an FLL, Friedrich Linden.
Looking forward to your thoughts,

You might want to take a look at that FLL, catch looks like there might have been some extra soder added around the base. Or maybe the backside finish looks a little off to me.

Imo the Deumer is a zincer and not a tombak piece. The price for a zinc badge is a little hefty...

In my opinion the Deumer is a tombak variant and a beautiful example!

Hi Jason,

Both very nice IABs. The FLL looks just fine, the catch looks fine to me and its pretty characteristic of this maker to have a ton of solder at the hinge and/or catch. FLL was very sloppy in this regard, something we see on their PABs & CCCs as well.

The Deumer is a beauty and I would agree with Hans that this is a Nickel Silver badge (or heavily plated tombak) and not a zinker.

I would definately go for the Deumer if I had to choose 1.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I really had my heart set on the deumer but I was too late someone bought it out from under me....
I'll just have to keep an eye out for another one.

Maybe you can get some detailed scans and try to see if there is colour showing through in certain areas such as the bayonet tip.
