Hi guys,
Here are my two latest IAB additions that just arrived.
First is a hollow, unmarked RSS in pretty nice condition. I have a marked solid-backed example, and have been looking for his hollow brother for a while now to complete the pair. The ball hinge and flatwire catch were soldered into the recesses on the reverse. At first I thought they might be a repair, but both the hinge and catch solder have the silver finish completely covering them, so I have to think this was done in the factory. Looking through my files, it looks like most if not all the hollow RSS badges have this same setup, with the hinge and catch soldered onto the reverse rather than crimped in. Anyone have a hollow example with crimped-in hardware?
The 2nd badge is a Hermann Aurich with lots of silver finish left. When I bought it I had forgotten I just recently found one at the SOS, but I will keep both in the collector for now. These have a are nice looking eagle design, so I don't mind keeping both.
Hope you like them as much as I do.
Tom
