This badge has caused much controversy over the years and I have read numerous threads with no conclusion that I could find. Was there ever a conclusion reached on this badge? I have a chance to acquire one and want to know what the latest consensus is.

Hi Harry, are we talking about an un-numbered GAB? If so, then JFS is not a known maker of this style of badge. There are a considerable number of GAB's floating about marked for JFS, but they are accepted as reproduction badges by most enthusiasts.
Can you post pix please?
Now, if it's a numbered badge, you bet JFS made them, but I would strongly advise you to post good clear fotos, front & back as there are countless fakes of those about.
