      Hello Adren,

IMO this is not an original RK badge.

What I do not like: the number 50 is wrong IMO, the figures do not match to the original shape of the 5 and 0, also the hinge and the way the hinge is fixed to the wreath.

Also the eagle is out of dimension, there is normally a visible space between the eagle and the area, where the eagle is put into the wreath.
Here in this badge the eagle is too large and fits in the wreath without the space. Same with grenade and knife.

      Kind regards

      Martin

Am I seeing a rivet through the wreath opposite the maker's mark?

Looks like an area with the base metal exposed.

              Hi guys,

In my opinion this is an original Karneth, but just well worn. I think the hinge is repaired and the number box looks correct but has obviously taken some hits which make it look disfigured. The hits it took spread the "5" out a bit, distorting its appearance.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I awoke at 500am and for some reason half asleep look at waf. I seen this thread and thought the same thing as you wrote . I couldnt figure out what was wrong with the badge and thought these numbered badges were getting way to good at being faked,

                  Hi,
Suggest you search the forum with words "50 PAB". There were some RK 50 PABs photos for your reference.

                    Kwen,

                    How does that comment help?

I agree with Tom on this one as the badge looks fine but I think people were throw off by the hinge but everything else seems spot on.

                    Regards,
                    Chris

Well, at least it did help me before I got the PAB book and save some time to check other reference.

My initial reaction was also that it is a good badge but with something a bit off,
                          interesting piece anyways.

                          Best Regards,

I can only agree, 100% original but with a repaired hinge.
                            Kind regards,
                            Giel

I felt it was real when I first saw it, but did not want to outright say it until more threw their opinions in since I did not want to sway a potential buyer the wrong direction. The hinge, or atleast what is there does match the types I have seen on the tank badges which is why I figured it had a chance. At first I even thought it could have been an un finished badge.
