    Bronze PAB

My Bronze PAB just came in the mail. Comments welcome. Scans are tough on such 3D badges - any suggestions?

Sorry to say this is a known fake.
It is immediately recognizable by the "cut" into the wreath near the turret on the left side. Other things like too flimsy catch and edges on reverse flattened and broadened that way are also typical for this fake.
      Cheers, Frank

            Hi Flak,

This type of PAB must have been posted a dozen times over the last 12 months. It's really beyond me why it keeps popping up every couple of weeks.

And concerning the dealers I think most of them for sure don't read this forum. This sc "Porsche" PAB copie is for sale at most big dealers or has been in the past with one exception and that is D. Niemann.

Here is a link to the original on which this copie is based:

              Lessons

Thanks everyone from a newbie collector. Thomas has been wonderful and I have learned some lessons:

              1) Always buy from a dealer with a return guarantee
              2) DO your homework before buying. Research, research, research!
              3) Read this website and learn from it
              4) If it looks too good it probably is

                  Hi Flak88,

My first PAB was also a fake and I did do some research on it first! It turned out to be one of the best fakes made, so I got hosed and I didn't find out until 6 months later and I was not able to return it for a refund Joining this Forum is the best thing you can do to inform yourself about buying good PAB's..better luck in the future..Dan

Message to Herr Huss about PAB

                    Dear Flak88,

I contacted Thomas Huss just now (8 May) and he stated that he is most dismayed that he made an incorrect determination concerning this badge. He said that he would return the money in full and for you to keep the badge in question.

I have found him to be honorable in his dealings and carries a full return promise for any items that turn out to be reproductions with no time limit.

I hope this helps, I was discussing another issue with him when I mentioned the problem with your badge and subsequent post.

Once again, the value of this forum has been proved.

                    Regards, Trident3

                      alls well

                      All,
Thanks. Thomas refunded the money the moment I told him of the issue brought up by the forum. He is a true gentleman. It is sad that folks make such fakes...
Thanks to the forum for all the help and to Thomas.
