    CCC at Weitze

    1500€?! What the hell?!

Nothing that I would ever care to own, even if it was the price of a standard issue bronze Nahkamfspange. Looks ugly.

    Best regards,

        I know......

......Herr Weitze has let some questionable items slip through in the past, but this one should have raised some flags.

The fastening holes, IMHO, and lack of reverse hardware don't necessarily scream fake. It is the disproportionate look of the badge that is, to say the least, incorrect. Perhaps it is that the image is skewed causing it look so squashed?

In my earlier posting I overlooked mentioning that these images also indicate an inappropriate base metal.

          Hi Daniel,

I have seen a few of these before and even show one on the last page of the CCC book as a weird oddity. I still don't know what these things are/were. The one I show in the book is from an old collection, but don't know where he picked it up unfortunately. Maybe Weitze knows more than we do about them and why he stuck such a high price on a likely-fantasy item....

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

For me, a nice low price, it would be fun to have this variant (fantasy) badge in my CCC collection.

Looks like this thing is riddled with casting pits.

Aside from the astetic red flags, the construction looks very sloppy and peculiar.

1500e seems steep for an oddity, at best.

Never seen such an ugly Thing! The Eagle looks like a drunken Seagull. I would urgently pass on that Piece! Be sure that such an ugly Thing has never ever been awarded in the German Army! It is a kind of those 1970´s Fantasy Things. After 40 Years such Trash pops up and People believe in the holy Grail It is a damned Shame that Helmut and other Dealers are selling and maybe "Believing" in such a Crap
