          Thanks Mike, it 'feels' original, if that makes sense? Its very well worn but I think its little details still shine though. For what I paid it was no matter real or not

                    why a Karneth Im looking in Franks book. There are three massive Karneth bagdes. two of them have another hinge, a kugelscharnier. If I compare the head at the Karneth 1.9.5 bagde and willcpfcs GAB - they do not look the same
                    Why not a Biedermann & co 1.27.2 in Franks book?

                      The B&Co connection is very flimsy, and until further evidence turns up, most guys would not accept it as solid evidence imo, just something to keep in mind. I think Mike is correct, an unknown maker, and likely ground dug.

                      Can we see various close ups of the hinge if possible please.

                        I agree with Graeme. That Bierdermann theory is based on one piece of an envelope if I remember it right. Thise is a clear unknown maker #10 in Frank's English edition of his book.
