Hi,

I'm looking at this badge for a friend who collects uniforms. Infortunately the images are not good and I can not get any better ones from the seller.

Can anyone see anything glaringly wrong with this badge? Any positive or negative opinion will be appreciated.

That badge looks fine too me. It is identical to my own except maybe in slightly better condition. On the reverse however is that just a mark in the centre of the number box or is it a rivet? If it is a rivet mine does not have that feature.

Hi Phil,

I don't have the badge in hand, but it looks like a hole for a rivet however the rivet does not appear to have been used. As far as I know, the tank is not marked but maybe the wreath was drilled for a G.B. type construction, just not completed that way. I recall seeing one or two like this before (ie rivet hole behind the numbered box but no actual rivet).

I think it looks OK and my friend understandably and rightly would like as many opinions as possible.

I have a virtually identical piece, but on mine the number IS rivetted. However, mine doesn't have the space between the eagle's wing and body voided.
