    CCC quiz

    Hi all,
Not to everyone's high tastes, but fit into my collection nicely.
They've been through a lot, but have finally found an appreciative resting place...
I received the silver grade yesterday, from a helpful member, thanks (yes it's silver!)
Just would like to show them off.

Can anyone notice the HUGE differences? Top marks if you do!
    regards
    jon

Got a VERY nice one (JFS) in gold for you, in case you are interested.

            Nice one!

Very nice Jon! Great to have both varieties of JFS marked badges. The JFS mark on the left side with the impressed FEC etc, on the right side is harder to find, I think. I have the same badges, but with the retaining pins reversed from what's shown on yours.

            Cheers,
            James

I would be interested, but the phrase 'VERY nice one' kinda blows my budget!

well, I thought someone may have spotted the 'oddities' here. Apart from the silver grade having a repaired catch, have a closer look at the bronze...

                    Dear Jon,

I think your bronze JFS CCC should look like this silver JFS .

WOW! what a shame, but I love it! (although most wouldn't)
                      and yes, you're correct. De-nazified, and re-nazified!
Now you don't see many 're'-nazified awards around...
                      best regards
                      Jon

                        Thanks James
Now I have both, it seems more logical that JFS changed their 'marking' from an earlier 'impressed' one. Surely as the war moved along, and silver and gold grades were needed, their 'impressed' mark would become obscured with the finishes? Bronze grade would have been OK, but heavy silver/gold washes would surely 'fill' the somewhat delicate marks..?
(sorry if this has been discussed before, I'm not over here much!)
                        regards

                          Jon,

What was it reattached with? Is that an epoxy just visible behind the swaz? I assume the new swaz came off a repro...seeing as it did, how hard was it to fit into the "original" badge? I once saw a Luft Anti-aircraft badge with the swaz replaced with the Ukrainian symbol, like on their flag. Good job on the repair!

                          Cheers,
                          James
