          Hi,
Better pictures would be needed to say anything 100%, but I don't see anything wrong in those pictures. Looks to me, like it is probably a real badge.
          Best, Chris

did this to compare to my silver

i had a idea once that flaws appeared to the cast the more it was used , if you look at number 6 , this is not on my badge , but the same marks 1 to 5 are , i saw the mark mentioned posted on this site not so long back with a incorrect pin hinge and catch , but i liked the badge , and it goes to prove my point that if it was a copy , it was a bloody good one , is your badge made from zink , the pics are bad , cant tell , and when you look to the left of the swaz , it there a pronounced (pin head ) mark ? ,

                  Hi Mark,

Most of the areas that you are pointing to, (on this style badge), will
vary from one badge to another. The reason, is because these badges
were filed by hand after they were cast out, and the cutouts were stamped
out after the casting, as well, (separate process). The back edge and many parts of the back side, including the outer rim of the cutouts on the back, etc., were all hand worked, to remove any jagged edges or cast flaws that were always found on the back side when they were made. These flaws would vary, as would the hand work of each individual badge.
The exact positioning of the cutouts will also vary, as they were not always
lined up with the machine exactly the same every time, when the cutouts were stamped. Best, Chris
