Golden Close Combat Clasp with Hook

A friend from Germany asked me for my opinion on this Goldene Nahkampfspange (Häckchenspange / Hook-Clasp).

I can not help him, even though I'm considering buying a boxed example for myself this year, so I'd appreciate input from my WAF friends.

Thank you very much in advance.

Yep, that's what I thought. Generally lacking quality at all ends. If I recall correctly the backplate has a rivet as well.

What would I expect to pay for a nice, original boxed example nowadays?

Is EUR 14,000 in the ballpark?

              Hi guys,

I can only agree, this is a poor reproduction and nothing like original Presentation CCC in gold. The last one I saw for sale without its case was priced at $20,000 and then one with case was $28,000.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                Thanks for the input guys.

Honestly I think USD 20,000 +/- shows how underrated the Golden CCC with hook really is, compared to "common" Knight's Crosses...

20,000 wow that's a big chuck of change! I knew I should of picked some of these up a few years ago when I saw them for around 8000.

                      Hi Markus,

in 2 weeks this ccc is for offer at Stauffer Auktionen. I compare the sticker on your pictures with the auction catalog. Description "....Nice worn original" Start price 1.800 Euro.

                      Forget this ccc

                      Greetings
                      Chris

                            Hi Markus,
You must have a huge slush fund set aside this year to allow you to purchase a top hook cased CCC. I'm not sure if other WAF members noticed them but I've seen 2 of these for sale over the last 12 months (I also managed to save a few images of both sets):

Militaria Berlin had a beauty but despite the 100,000 Euro price tag it was SOLD in a few hours. YES that's correct one hundred thousand euros!

Kai Winkler also sold one (can't remember the price, but >20,000 Euros is likely).

So I wish you luck my friend to find one at the price Tom has quoted. Time to dig deep?
                            Best wishes,
                            Jeff

EUR 100000.-? That´s show off only! Either it was already sold and they just wanted to show what they had or it was not for sale at all.
MB had a cased clasp some years ago, that I had the pleasure to inspect in Kassel. I think it was EUR 15000.- Could have been 20000.-
