    Legion Condor tank badge opinions

    Hello Collectors,

please have a look at this LCTB.

I know it is a rare badge and not much information around...also some different types do exist.

This one here looks promising at first glance....but I have a strange feeling.
I would expect better ( sharper) details on it.

    Can you help with this?

    Thanks in advance & Regards

    Martin

I like it, I have one just like it but without the hardware.

            Hi Martin,

I think I once had the same type in my hands but returned it to the seller.

Compare it with the one you have in your collection and I think your mystery is solved
            Kind regards,
            Giel

              Hello Giel,

thanks a lot for your reply.

In the meantime I had the chance to check the badge very good and it is not a good one.....I did not buy it as it not an original one.

In comparison to original ones it shows some lack of details...eg the leaves on the wreath and many more.

But it is a very good fake and without a good in hand inspection and a badge to compare is might fool a lot of collectors

              Best regards

              Martin

I don't like this one, it is post war Souval with reworked hardware.

Here is a good thread with closeups to compare:

I don't know which one you have in your collection to compare it to but I showed mine to Detlev several years ago and he liked it too. You must remember there was several makers and they vary. If you don't like it give me the link and I will go for it.

Here is the one I have in my collection, it is a type-2 which was used to award in Germany.

I am not sure which one you showed to DN, but some time ago this badge was shown to him and he liked it also, ...but I don't, because it's a postwar badge made by R.Souval ...

... and if those badges found untouched they have postwar Souval's hardware, on badge in question looks to me there is a very sloppy soldering job done when hardware was replaced.

I am aware that there are other company made those during the war, there is a O.Schickle LCTB, also there was one on display in S&L store and probably few more, but only type-1 and type-2 was used to award.
... just have to study it very carefully before calling it original war time piece, because there is a lot more fakes out-there that are trying to look like originals.

There is also another badge that looks a lot like Souval, but it is not the same badge, it is a different strike and I don't know by who and when, the easiest way to compare the dot design on the scull if it's matching this then it is postwar Souval. And if you follow the link I posted before you'll find more info, that thread has some other links there too.
