And another one of these in near minty. IMO the more I see, the more I don´t like.

          But Skip,

Look at the link I provided, two ground dug ones in there with heavy zincpest.

Are you sure that they are EXACTLY the same ones Frank?
To me they look a little different.

              Dear Skip,

Yes, I am absolutley sure. There will always be people who disagree, the magic word is looking at pictures taking the different ANGLES into account. There is no doubt these badges are identical.

In addition, when one analyzes all GAB types, one will find there are not so many as it may seem at first glance. This one above is encounteres on a regular basis in all kinds of conditions. This design hzas a very specific eagle´s head and very specific claws. The left shoulder of the eagle is a bit higher that the right one. Just a couple of refernce points.
But most important (if there ever was any doubt) in ground dug form. Not ground dug for a year I should mention but for decades.
              Cheers, Frank

Even more obvious from the reverse, because no tricks of angles here.

                  Hi Frank,

OK I´m convinced now that you´ve done the comparison on these 2. The tip with the high right shoulder is a good one.
The ones with lines on the back, like the first one in the other thread, are still suspicious to me though.

                    Hi guys,

I too believe that is original, along with the good observations made by Frank and if i compare mine with Frank's badge are completely flat and the place of the hinge and catch are in the exactly place.

I took some instant pics of this badge, is not so good but clearly shows to me characteristic points of WW2 manufacturing along with the catch and the hinge.

                      Gab

                      Hi Guys,
I tried to get a better picture of the GAB from the other post, more straight on. I don't have a scanner. I checked it to the previous comparison above and it matches on the front perfectly. The high left shoulder, the feet, the body feathers, the head, the bayonet, grenade, the acorns on the bottom (the right one has a straight stem, the left one curves to the left) Etc. Also, I want to reinterate that this badge was purchased directly from the Vet and was in a suitcase for 50 years. I have no reason whatsoever to disbelieve him .Here is another picture. Regards, Mitch
