Absolutely authentic! I know an SS man who is still living and resides here in the USA who won an embroidered type and one of our forum members owns it, as well as all his other awards.

    These are EXTREMELY rare!

Aha, I know a vet who got the naval clasp, does this make all of these on market right now authentic?

I am not saying the patch in question is a fake, I just would not buy one of these without provenance, plain and simple. Every talented tailor could reproduce these easily.

So are these considered an issue item or a private purchase ? Thanks for any opinions. Michael

These embroidered TDBs were private-purchase items.

The embroidered strip that I referred to earlier in this thread was presented to him at an official Company awards ceremony. His award was not privately purchased. These where the very first of the TDBs but were quickly replaced by the metal version.
