Whilst finding numerous buttons, dogtags and other German items, I came across this badge in the form of a laurel wreath surrounding an urn. It's 5.5cm x 3.8cm and appears to have had some kind of fixing clip in the reverse at some point. I've never seen this badge (if that's what it is) before. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Andy.http://www.metaldetectingforum.co.uk...5091&mode=view

Ref Badge from PW Camp England
As Andy has said this item was found on the site of a PW camp in Devon, UK. I'm posting the photos on his behalf;
Front of item:
Rear of item:
The item measures 5.5cm x 3.8cm. The rear of the item appears to have a screw fitting that may have attached to a mounting plate of some sort.
My own opinion is that this looks more like a furniture fitting than a military/civil decoration. What do others think?
