Very nice block hinge Deumer. Nice find!

          Thank you Dennis, much appreciated.

My main concern is that peculiar feeling, that this badge was produced 3 weeks ago near Dortmund...

            Hi Daniel,

I get that feeling too with this badge. Can we see some pics of the hinge, with the pin open? I see some pitting at the bottom the badge at the wreath band, but it may just be the finish. I am suspect of this badge, but don't have my files in front of me at the moment.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

              Hi Tom,

will do the pics tomorrow. The pitting you mentioned is definitely there, it also caught my attention when looking at it with a loupe.

              Regards,

                Hi Daniel,

We are looking at a Staegemeir FAKE here IMO.

The upwards turned gun barrell is a definte sign that this is a fake IMO.

If that's a fake, it's a darn good one. I'd say real, but I'm going to do some more digging to confirm

Look at the gun barrell on my original Deumer and then compare it to Daniel's badge.

I do see what you are saying, yes.

I also remember the bronze small 'w' Wurster fakes had a barrel pointed upward. Coincidence? Clearly a different eagle, so probably

the bronze deumer is a knwon fake Daniel

the eagle has soft deatails and the gun stands to high

I have learned a lot since I first posted! Fakes are just getting so well made. Almost makes one want to quit collecting......almost.
