Infantry Assault Badge in Silver, Opinions?

I just recieved this IAB in Silver. Is it good or bad? It looks like it has a crimped hinge and clasp. Better pics to come.

    Thanks,
    usasof

      Hello,

Well, I also agree with Eric.

Likely an original IAB that is a Sohni Heubach & Company (SHuCo) design with the "waffle crimp" hardware set-up. This style of IAB may have a connection to Gottleib & Wagner as it has been found in that maker's packets. Both SHuCo and Gottleib & Wagner were located in Oberstein.

Better picture would be great to confirm.

      Regards,
      Eric

I've seen a few really good fakes of these, so close-ups of this one will help confirm this one

                Hi

It is probably ok from what I can see, and described well by Eric.

But the pics are not very good, and I am not a fan of links to pics, as in time the thread can and often becomes useless..

So my advice to you is to upgrade your membership, and upload your pics directly, cheap IMO for all the advice you can get from here.

                regards
                Graeme

I also think it looks OK, but like Chad says the fakes of these are very good and its well worth the $25 fee to be able to post good, closeup pics.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I agree with Graeme and Tom. It is money well spent.

That example looks OK, but be very careful of that seller Ralf Haas, he is a known fakers and con artist.

I agree, even though the obverse pic is blurry, I, as well, think this is an original
