if you could find a correct boxed piece what would the box say and if that one is correct how do you translate bandentam?

There is nothing at all good about this piece...it is not even a good copy...note how somebody tried to stain the upper inside of the case to make it look old....also looks like somebody sandpapered the caseComment

SORRY MY FRIEND , this is a fake , i belive it was last for sale buy a antique dealer in the states , i think it went for 600 ish , these are repros sold hear in the uk , the one you have has just been made to look old , they cost 40 quid hear brand new , if you payed top money for this , like me you should have done your homework , i have been stung with quite a few of these , but must admit , they were not quite as bad as that one ,

Thanks to all who responded and commented. As theunionjack suggested, I tried to do my homework - as should be evident from my opening of this thread. I was suspicious, but really needed some second opinions from those more knowledgeable, before proceeding. I had not yet purchased the piece and will now be returning it.
Re question by phosphateb, the wording on the box, I believe, is and should be the German term for the award, which is: "Bandenkampf-Abzeichen" (Anti-Partisan Badge).

great discussion! i have been eyeballing the partisan badge on craig gottliebs site and would love to own it but man i sure can buy alot of bayonets for that amount. maybe instead of worrying about collecting badges i should start just collecting original looking fakes that appeal to me?Comment
